Light from the Dark

This recording of twenty solo piano pieces is available from Amazon, iTunes, CD Baby and Spotify.

The music is quiet and intimate, often made in the dimming light of dusk. The image of dark and light also relates to depression, the pain of being in the dark in your head and heart on a brightly lit day and the way in which music can bring light when all around is dark. Journeys with black dogs through clouds, echoes and shadows.

Comments

"How can music be so sad and so soothing at the same time?"

"Sounds gorgeous. Lovely sequence and the liner notes get you into each piece. So bravi for it - distinctive, touching, evocative, nostalgic, moving, consoling, and much much more - above all it is honest"

"The clear melodic lines of Duncan Fraser's piano composition are deceptively simple - gentle and beautiful, with an impressive underlying strength. A balance of struggle and stoicism emerges in inventive devlopment of his initial themes, to illustrate the overarching 'light from darkness'. Listening is a moving experience, and repeated listening uncovers increasing subtlety and significance."

"A minimalistic Piano album. Calm and soothing. Uplifting. My type of music."

..and a haiku!
Poignant memories -
contemplative quietness.
Refreshingly real.
